A baby crib is a classic piece of furniture, which is located in the baby's room or in the parents' bedroom. Its construction should meet the highest safety standards, and it should be made of natural materials (such as wood or ecological rattan) that are friendly to toddlers. Deciding on a specific model, we can choose one that grows with our child and, after removing the rungs, will become a bed ideal for a few years old, or bet on a traditional crib.

Infant cribs tailored to the needs of the little scamp

The crib plays an important role in the first months of life. The infant spends most of its time taking short naps, and then eagerly plays with rattles or sensory toys while lying safely on the comfortable mattress. Even parents enjoy the benefits of this piece of furniture, changing or dressing their baby in it. By using the crib while nursing, we minimize the risk of our toddler slipping and falling on the floor.

When choosing the right baby bed, it is worthwhile to be guided by the needs of our little one and the style in which we have decided to arrange the children's space. Its width, color or shape can be adapted to the size of the room and the colors that are already present in it. The most common choices are natural and subdued colors, such as white and various shades of wood. Slightly more modern interiors can be complemented with furniture in gray or anthracite.

Choosing a crib: what to pay attention to?

A crib is a space used by our child. Whether we bet on a bed with rungs, a drop side or an extra container, it is worth choosing a model that meets European standards and safety norms.

Before buying an infant crib, let's pay attention to the option of removing the rungs. This feature may prove to be extremely necessary in a situation when our baby will already want to leave the crib independently and come on his own feet to the parents' bed. The spacing of the rungs itself is also important: ideally, it should be a minimum of 6 centimeters.

The functionality of the baby's crib is also greatly influenced by the option of height adjustment, so you can perfectly adjust the dimensions of the crib to suit your current needs. The highest variant will prove useful when the toddler is not yet sitting, and the lower one when he learns to crawl or is able to stand up independently.

Functional bedside extension

An extra bed is an interesting solution when our baby is only a few months old and we want him to sleep next to us all night, but at the same time we want to provide him with a separate space. Sleeping in a single bed can be risky, and parents often worry that they will move over the baby while he is sleeping, or unwittingly wrap the bedding around him.

The sense of security and bonding with parents has a significant impact on the baby's psyche from the first moments of life. The proximity of the little one and the ability to watch by his side all night promotes bonding, plus it is very convenient for the mother, who does not have to get out of her own bed to feed the toddler. A bedside comforter can also work well when the toddler is sick and requires constant parental supervision.

Useful accessories for children's cribs

When arranging a child's room, let's try to approach the subject very functionally, choosing furniture that will increase storage space at little cost. A child's crib, like a bed for adults, can be provided with boxes located under the frame, so that we can easily store there pampers or cosmetics for care.

Some models of baby cribs are equipped with casters, which allow the furniture to be moved conveniently, whether on tiles, panels or soft carpet. Thanks to this, especially a mother who is postpartum, she will not be forced to use excessive force to change the position or orientation of the crib.

In VOX's offer you can also find accessories that make it easier to store small items at the baby's crib. Cotton organizers, which can be tied to the side of the crib, or protectors, which will serve to protect your little one's head, may prove useful.
